Ask your doctor to explain what to expect in the healing process. How long will it take to recover? What efforts should you take to speed the healing process up? What difficulties will you face was you body heals?

What future health concerns could I face because of my injuries?

Ask your doctor about any future health problems your injuries could cause. Could your injury create a lifelong struggle for you? Find out if you will need to continue with future check-ups during your healing process, or if you’ll need to see and specialists like a physical therapist or chiropractor. Get a sense of what your future dealing with your injuries will consist of.

What caused my injuries?

Get an understanding of what specifically caused your injuries. Ask your doctor to write down how the accident caused each injury. This is so insurance companies can’t say your injuries were caused by something other than the accident. Be specific. For example: the impact of your head with the steering wheel caused a concussion.

How soon can I return to work?

You need to get an idea of how long you will be unable to work. If your injuries are serious, you can get compensation from your insurance for your inability to work.

Can I have copies of my medical records?

Ask your doctor to write all of this down. Get all of your medical records so you can submit them to your insurance company and get the compensation you deserve.
